I would love to see Kristian forging a bond with Eduardo. Expressing the heartache and sorrow of having family and friends turn their backs on you. A slow simmering bond that turns romantic in the end. It would be nice for Eduardo to have a taste of love.

You knew that there was more to Kristian. It was impossible that an outburst like that would be something casual. I'm interested to see where this goes.

In true soap-opera style, we are eventually going to find out that the story Kristian dare not tell Kyle is that they are half-brothers! They share the same father -- it was the other reason for coming to the Bed and Breakfast -- to find out who Kyle is and forge a relationship with him.

I am now really wondering what Kristian has hidden that he can't tell Kyle.

Prediction: the "whole story" is that he participated in gay bashing to hide the fact that he himself was gay. Just a guess, we'll see!

I hope Garth is correct. I hope Anonymous Tues Aug 9, 2011/5:16pm edt is not correct. Don't want that to come out but it seems like that might be the case, or worse?

Speculation time? I will speculate that his lover was killed (or driven to suicide) by his friends. Whether he stood by and watched it is just too much to contemplate.

For any teens reading this, hang on. Life is much longer than you think (or I thought at that age) and yes, it really does get BETTER overall. Looks like Kristian will be experiencing some of the better parts soon....

Some of you people are just so silly. Your imaginations are so limited. Last panel "Diana" said she could tell by his "tone"....How? Its printed words. Unless she has some imagined sound to the written words. As he has said "dis" and "dat" doesn't mean he sounds like Geoffery Holder. ha ha ha.Secondly--throwing out hints of how you would like his story to unfold is silly too--i.e. he was a gay basher, he was gay bashed, a lover was bashed. Why think so negative? He may have not been able to be with the person he loved and willingly walked away due to homophobia--which is a sad story--or he may have had to leave the island because he was a gay rights activist. There could be any number of reasons for him not disclosing his whole life in a nutshell. Do any of you do that? let the story unveil itself and enjoy it without all the silly speculation.

Yes, I'm sure that Kristian dares not tell Kyle the whole story because it would cause him to die from sheer joy and wonder. That's exactly the kind of secret that people who dare not tell other people things are invariably hiding. How silly to speculate that it might be something bad! People don't dare not tell people horrible things! They dare not tell people things that aren't any worse than the thing they just told them!

In closing, writing also has a tone. You can look it up.

Dee, I stand by my remark. yes you can infer tone from the printed word. I realize that I may be reading too much into it, but I've encountered veiled transphobia in gay men plenty of times, and it often takes the form of remarks similar to Kristian's.
I'm enjoying this storyline quite a bit, BTW.
And there's no need to put quotation marks on my name. It's my real name.

Unspeakable secrets are hardly sources of fun, have a negative feeling is just being reasonable here.

P.s.: Am I the only one to think that the drawing of Kristian's rasta hairline is a bit too unrealistic?

Not trying to hi-jack the story
but this online news is somewhat related to what Kristian is talking about.
Cameroon homosexuality trial condemned
Two men are due to stand trial in Cameroon on charges of homosexuality, prompting criticism from human rights campaigners of the country's discriminatory laws.

Amnesty International demanded the immediate release of the pair, a 19-year-old known only as Jonas, and a 20-year-old known as Francky, who were arrested last month in a car outside a nightclub in the capital, Yaounde.
