I love how Delia just cuts through the bull! Tofu is also something I'll never entirely understand.

Steele is REALLY blond. Blonder and blonder. "I... never thought about it like that".

@at Tamayn: I wonder if you ever tried crispy tofu, and with the proper seasoning and mix.
But, as for me, I do not entirely understand beer or peanut butter (let alone Vegemite), no matter how thinly applied, so I guess that to each their own.

Somehow, to me, Brad looks even sexier in the robe than in his shorts! Woof Woof! (reference to Delia's yellow lab comment)

Brad can be blond, and blonder. I do not have a problem with it.

@Carles: I will have to try crispy Tofu. The only time I've ever had it was in soups, and then it really didn't have much flavor. Is fried tofu like fried mozzerella sticks, because that could be awesome!

Also, I'm with you on beer, but recommend that you try Belgian beers, especially Pawuel Kwak. If you don't like that beer, you'll probably never like it. The idea of vegemite and marmite just scare me, but peanut butter is something that is quite good, especially when mixed with chocolate. My favorite use for peanut butter is in a dessert that's particular to the state where I was born: Buckeyes. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/buckeyes-i/

Tamayn and Carles.... I hope you will both contribute some recipes to the Kyle's B&B Cookbook when it's published!

That could be fun! Are you looking for recipes of any particular type?

I love seeing Brad in his tight whities. He has a beautiful ass.

Loved the last two episodes of Brad in his briefs, but found it jarring that both Brad and Delia referred to his "penis". No lesbian I know would use such a clinical term, and there's no way you'll ever convince me that good old blunt Brad is so puritanically precise in referencing body parts. For a strip that frequently (and lovingly) wallows in male nudity, is the word "dick" really too crass?

I don't care if she is a Lesbian ... I want an all Male House!

There's such a thing as having manners which nobody seems to have at the B&B except for those who are not muscled with the perfectly drawn bodies. I wouldn't care who it was, put on some clothes and have some class. It's not a bath house it's a guest house not your house either. I also don't get the recurring lesbian character either - I don't see the need to have her in the strip?

Brad and his false modesty, what a hoot!

BTW, I like the thought of a B&B cookbook.

Hey guys, I hate to break it to you, but you aren't the only people reading this strip. Just like life, you're going to encounter women, old people, and others who fall outside your bubble. Get over it. If ONE lesbian shows up in the strip from time to time, I think you'll live.

I agree with diana-being another said lezzie. As far as what Brad did that just shows that he was brought up with good manners when respecting a woman was shown in that manner-though not others. It is cool how they cleared that issue up though but it makes sense to me-both parts.

About the Kyle's B&B cookbook.... yeah, I really do have plans to put one out, although not until after the next Kyle's B&B collection, (volume 3). It's going to be a breakfast recipe cookbook, and being that it will be recipes that Kyle would actually cook, the recipes will have to fall within his somewhat notorious "health food" guidelines. Meaning, vegetarian, (although NOT vegan... he does use eggs and dairy products). And, (this one will probably send some people running!), no refined sugar ingredients! Meaning, only sweeteners like maple syrup or honey.

I think it would be a nice thing to have a healthy breakfast cookbook out there, and I will welcome recipe contributions from readers!

Greg, it's always nice to learn something new, and a vegetarian breakfast cookbook sounds great. [not a veggie myself, but I do have to stay away from refined sugars]

Brad's robe had nothing to do with "manners", it was all about his "blondness".
It is silly and hypocritically discriminating, as Delia hinted to, that a woman, being outside the Round Table of Dicks, should
be given a treatment that, rather than showing some sort of special consideration to her, simply sets her apart.
You do not give up "manners", you simply update them, like you update the rest: marriage, social life, recipes... to pretend that "manners" are 1950s neo-Victorian manners is like pretending that the only good literature was written in Jacobean English.

I find it this last episode kind of strange since Delia and he dated. Delia's last appearance was in episode 336 where the other baseball players' girlfriend assumed she is his girlfriend because they had met her at a baseball awards ceremony (episodes 315-319).

Dermie said...

Anonymous, Brad and Delia never "dated"--she pretended to be his date for a party where Brad was being given an award, since he is still in the closet. But the two of them have never actually been a couple.

As for the people complaining about Delia moving into the house...are you serious? She has been a recurring character in the strip since the beginning (her first appearance was episode 12). Has her presence in the strip all these years really been that big of a hassle for you?

We're talking about ONE woman, in an ensemble cast of 20 or so characters! As for the "need" to have her in the strip...how about realism, for one thing. Very few people (gay or straight) in my experience have friends that are exclusively one-sex only. It only makes sense that there would be some women in these guys' lives.

Its not like Delia's presence is cutting into the strip's beefcake at all--we've had Brad naked or in his undies in both episodes since she's moved in.

Delia has been a part of the series anyway, whether she lives in the house or not, so why not just enjoy the ride? She's a fun character who has an entertaining dynamic with other characters.
