BREYER: "...It's time you know the TRUTH.." ..you wanna let US in, Brey!?? ...ha-HAAA!!
...OK! ...The suspense is STILL ongoing (and, it BETTER have a slam-bang reasoning), but I found some discrepancies in this weeks' strip that I find a tad unbelievable:
- isn't Darren a ROOKIE cop, in training!? ..how can he access a HIGHWAY'S 20 year database for Richard's perusal!? that would mean WEEKS of scanning, and proper camera location(s)...
- Darren & "Veronica's Closet"...- I mean- RICHARD, telling Kyle this info ONLY makes Kyle look UN-trusting to Brey all the MORE, instead of tellin' them to bug off, and leave THEIR private matters, a-l-o-n-e....
- Breyer already felt Kyle was slippin' away from Trusting him (which was why he pulled that 'come up and see me sometime', sex act)...Kylye coming to his House, saying sorry he didn't BELIEVE him, only makes matters worse (in MY opinion), which would lead BREYER to end it....
...I think it was Mark (another commenter)who said it, but, I will be reeeeeeal disappointed if this wraps up in a "pretty little bow" and the WEEKS worth of suspense comes to NAUGHT; this was / could be a FANTASTIC opportunity to show the 'trouble spots', of a Gay RELATIONSHIP; We all don't watch "Drag Race", 'throw shade', and dance to the latest Hex Hector Club mix, we actually are in commuted unions that take care, time, and NAVIGATION, when issues of TRUST come up....and, they DO....
Kyle & Breyer are the PERFECT characters to test this, because their union was TOO easy, and 'unbelievable', to an extent...an act of betrayal, would make it TRUTHFUL...
Hmm, I dont think this will be a nicely wrapped in a bow ending. I have mixed feelings now about Breyer too. Im wondering if Kyle has been asexual lately and Breyer has been going to the woods to wack off. If im horny enough, I can wack off in less than 5 minutes.
Jumping into the comments early this week....I have a sneaky suspicion that Greg has something up his sleeve for this storyline...perhaps Breyer was meeting someone who has designed a special ring (and Breyer will drop to his knee and propose) OR Breyer was there for some other non-sexual reason (my imagination is limited this morning).
With all of that said - one can hear the "dun dun duuuuuun" music playing in the background. Greg has created such an air of suspense and mystery - masterful storytelling. I'm looking forward to the denouement (but kind of enjoying the ongoing twists and turns). Keep up the GREAT work, Greg!
Not real clue where this is going, but I'm already not crazy about the "frequent visitor to Everhard Woods" theory being blown out of the water, and not just because it was UNGODLY illegal of Darren to access and share this information with anyone in an unofficial capacity. Looks like my distrust of Darren was justified: he clearly cannot be trusted to perform his job ethically.
Longtime reader, first time posting. I'm really curious to see where this is going, but like others, hope this doesn't get tied up with a pretty bow. That said, seven minutes isn't long enough for a sexual encounter, but it's enough time for a pee in the woods??? Have these guys never had a quickie? And Breyer needs to get himself to a urologist if it's taking him seven minutes to park, walk into the woods, take a whizz, and then be on his merry way home.
...HEY, Robb!! ...I'm glad this story-line got you creepin' outta the 'woodwork' to make your FIRST comment....and, I'm also MAD, 'cause, you pointed out a discrepancy I FORGOT, about the 7 minute LEAK! ...ha-HAAA!!
....aaand, I've had some 'quickies' in me past, that were THREE minutes, and I still cherish them, in my memories...1992 was a VERY busy time for me, ha-HAAA!! ...MEOW!!😸 >wegotawegotalove-wegottawegotaLOVETHAAANG<
...come back again, n' comment, y'hear!?? ..CHOW-CHOW!!
That was my idea all along, the whole thing was just too suspicious and with too many blank points. However I can't imagine what's Breyer's secret (and still, I find it pretty shitty that he kept his boyfriend in the dark for so long and created a very stressful situation for him, the fact that he didn't go there to fuck doesn't change THAT much)
I don't like how they made Darren, an AFRICAN AMERICAN who is in a police academy, do something illegal, especially giving the current climate with police and the African American community. that really bothers me. And like other readers have said, don't let it be about wrap in the bow happy ending.
Seven minutes for a fcking pee? How unlikely is that, even with the biggest and fullest bladder on the planet? There are quickies shorter than that LOL. But you do not even need to have sex to be unfaithful, right... and seven minutes is eternity for that.
I agree with "Unknown." Greg, it was wrong to have Darren, who is African-American and in the Academy, commit a crime, which is what he did. Since Richard is so adept at uncovering details of the personal lives of the other characters, and since he has a vast and seemingly ceaseless network of friends and contacts on whom he relies for intel, why not have had Richard know a computer whiz who could hack into the camera feed from the Rest stop?
....and, I agree with WranglerMan, that Richard should've had more 'gay-dar'-esque connections, to get the footage of Breyer's stay in the "Woods"....to be honest, I WAS a bit bothered by Darren's (highly) illegal doings within the Police firms database, but, I was more befuddled by the UN-believability of it, being he's a Cop IN TRAINING...
...I didn't want to bring his race into question, because he, (to ME) is just "Darren"; We all know Greg does this strip by HIMSELF, and gives us the option to discuss it within this forum; there are going to be 'discrepancies' of sorts, at times....He IS entitled to his creativity, and to keep the story-line(s) MOVING...he can't be held (totally) to intricate details that mirror REAL LIFE all the time, seeing that this is a FICTIONAL strip....
...I just hope that THIS story-line DOESN'T get a 'sweet as pie' ending, 'cause even though these are fictional characters, they DO represent what could happen in REAL-LIFE Gay relations / relationships, and that in ITSELF, mostly, ain't always' 'sweet as pie'....s'up to YOU, Greg....
Unfortunately, if Darren was white, that would re-affirm the stereotype that white cops are bad. It's a no-win situation for Greg. I appreciate the fact Kyle's B&B is truly a "rainbow" of characters. -Ray
Yeah, Darren probably shouldn't jeopardize his fledgling career as a cop by pulling that data for Richard. But it's totally in character for him to go the extra mile for his new friends.
Honestly, I'm kind of glad Darren broke a rule or two -- and is having boundaries about it -- because I was starting to think that he was a little too perfect. Now that he's more integrated into the B&B, I hope we see a more proactive, less wide-eyed side of him.

I think I get at least partial prediction credit here, based on my comment for the 5/14/21 post:

Road side video cam footage could show Breyer going into the woods and coming back one minute later, which would support his story.
Either way, Kyle and Breyer are done, since trust is not there.
And if Breyer was in the clear, Kyle will be rethinking/ending his friendship with anyone responsinle for the breakup.

I didn't know Richard worked with the Police Force unless I missed a hint in some of the older chapters in this series.

Not sure why Greg should be told that characters of a certain race can only do certain things.
Sort of misses the whole point MLK made about judging people by the content of their character and not the color of their skin.
Not to mention how insulting it is for Greg to be given a list of rules that restrict his creativity.
....and, I agree with WranglerMan, that Richard should've had more 'gay-dar'-esque connections, to get the footage of Breyer's stay in the "Woods"....to be honest, I WAS a bit bothered by Darren's (highly) illegal doings within the Police firms database, but, I was more befuddled by the UN-believability of it, being he's a Cop IN TRAINING...

I say he's an undercover cop.
