"...A bargain-basement clone of Drew..."!?? ...well, Greg is clearly hearing our CRIES! ...ha-HAAA!! ...Oh, I have a LOT to say...

...but, don't I ALWAYS!? ; )

...We knew Jeremy would get Levi to see his 'real' self, again, but I didn't expect the "...do it for Mannis..." angle; I've stated MANY a time that Jeremy wasn't my fave character...at ALL... in this strip, but his his blind eyes to what's LITERALLY before him, turns me off a bit more.....

...this story-line is some 'Teen-Steam wannabe Dream' stuff, and the Levi character doing all of this....for 'No-Backdoor Jeremy'.... seems a tad time-wasting....

...I LOVE Jeremy's OWN makeover (from George Takei-esque fey Filipino Houseboy in Tampa, Florida to slightly cool, uptight, tight-Bodied East Village NYC Alt-Rock lover), BUT.....

...his clear 'Not Over You Yet' mindset to Mannis, his obliviousness to Levi's attraction, his non-existent personality, etc., makes this a waste for a likeable, interesting character, like Levi....

....END it, already. ...here's abetter plot-twist...

...Levi starts to feel an attraction to Darren...Darren & Ed start to have issues with timing in their relationship (Ed in College & Work / Darren in Police Academy),and Ed confides in Levi; Levi's lust builds (MUCH more believable), and he confides it to Delia...

...Delia 'warns' Darren who's shocked...but, slightly interested....Ed senses something, & confront Darren, who he thinks is cheating, and breaks it off... Darren (licking wounds of the breakup), confides in Levi, tells him '..he knows...'...

...and a HOT hand Job later (on the B&B Couch), DRAMA ensues!

...how's THAT!?? ...ha-HAAA!! ...CHOW!

Levi's (beautifully rendered) shocked facial expression in that terrific 2nd to last frame is made even more vibrant by Richard's artfully toned cosmetic enhancements. lol

I love that strip author Greg is clearly anticipating/urging the audience responses in this episode.

I find it hard to believe that Jeremy's statement to Levi, "..that's the guy I would have dated" is a serious statement. For all that I've seen, Jeremy's stock in trade seems to be stone-faced indifference and rejection of any emotion - whether he directs it to someone else, or someone else expresses it towards him.

I feel for Levi. He's stumbling around trying to navigate a confusing environment with lots of misleading "clues" and "hints." As far as I know, he was mildly interested in maybe getting to know Jeremy better, and Richard blew that up into some wildly over-the-top makeover scenario.

Odd that Jeremy seems to recognize the entire "This is another one of Richard's makeovers that is crashing and burning" but is clueless that it's directed at him.

My advice to Levi is to wash his face and hair, put on his regular clothes, give Jeremy some major lip-lock, tell him, "Look me up the next time you're in Hawaii" and head for the airport. Bye bye to the B&B!

I don't see the appeal of Jeremy at all. Sergei would have been a better choice. Less talk, more heat.

I'm sorry but i don't see this couple working out. I see absolutely ZERO chemistry. Of all the characters in this strip, i have to say that Jeremy is the most boring.

Let me start by saying Jeremy is looking hotter than ever - those LEGS! The plot here (to keep the suspense perhaps) is missed clues, like a sitcom or romcom plot. To be fair, Levi asked Jeremy if he and Mannis were over which Jeremy interpreted as Levi's interest in Mannis. Who could blame him - Mannis is hot (he was Person of the Year 3 consecutive years). The makeover is ridiculous - it looks stupid, and is not Levi's personality, which Jeremy pointed out (very sharply). The straightforward Levi who was confident enough to negotiate his own settlement with former employer should just say Jeremy, it's you I want - especially when Jeremy gave hints of finding Levi interesting in his natural state. RBS7079 is correct - Jeremy is still pining for Mannis, which complicates things. Richard should get a job at a salon and leave the B&B residents alone. The B&B has a cast of characters who are hot and masculine, even the fat and oldest have a level of fitness - no need for them to be made over except to satisfy Richard's need to play with costumes and makeup. Even Drew was made over when the advertisers found him attractive fully dressed as he was. If Delia and Lisa can look beautiful without cosmetics, so can the men (except Morgan when visiting, but that's part of her identity).
If Jere,y and Levi are to become a couple - keep them at the B&B - Hawai'i doesn't seem to be happening, and Levi only dreamed of it while shivering on a wintry bench. Let's see more of Jeremy scantily clad, and more of Levi underdressed as well (especially the butt - for RBS7079).

Can we see more of Delia, Lance, Nick and Dave, Coach and Kyle, Jason and how about more occasional guest visitors now that the B&B has doubled in size and has an elevator?

Well, some call it "honesty", I call it "rudeness". Jeremy has gone too far (all that cheap version of Drew is soooo far beyond he can say being simply honest). Well, I don't like Mannis, Jeremy and Levi, so, if it makes them to move to Siberia, Amazonia and Esadter island, good for me and for the strip.

Ah Levi and Jeremy, a classic tale of a cute frumpy dork attempting to court one of the most disliked characters (I dont personally dislike jeremy) with haphazard results. I have to say though, I like the where this heading. Levi is about to embark on another "putting on the big boy pants" moment and Im here for it. While ultimatily unnessasary, Richard's makeovers sometimes have a way of unveiling what they were suppose to conceal. Now Levi is aware that Jeremy would be more interested in him the way he was before the trim, the slickback hair, the guy-liner and the script. He's gonna have to come up with his own plan if he wants to finally get Jeremy's attention. Speaking of our voted most boring character, Jeremy has suprised me continuously on how thickheaded he can be when it comes to men. Despite his mild-mannered, charming, and straightforward personality, he often comes off as out of step with those whom have or have had feelings for him. From having to clear up lance's suspicion that Jeremy only moved to the bnb to be close him, to believing that mannis wouldn't want to be in a relationship if anal was off the table, to levi finding out that jeremy actually likes his authentic self while jeremy doesnt realise that levi did the makeover to get his attetntion in the first place. if anything a relationship between the two would do them both some good, building confidence in levi and jeremy learning to letting people finish their statements.

I do have to wonder if the exhaustive, repetitive nagging about Jeremy from some particularly strident fans is what caused Greg to do a 180 on his personality. The Jeremy that was first introduced was flirty and outgoing, with a unique and interesting perspective, completely unrecognizable from the rigid, emotionally detached version we've been getting lately. At first it seemed like Jeremy was just maturing, but for the last few years it seems like Greg just reworked the character from scratch.

Bring back the old Jeremy, and get rid of sad sack Levi, who makes Jake seem compelling.

RBS7079 I have to agree I saw more chemistry between Levi an d Darren and thought they would have become a couple, that would have been an interesting dynamic. And loved the storyline idea you have about the two of them.

I am curious as to how this storyline will turn out and why Greg went this direction with Drew. J

Jeremy is an ass. That was mean and cruel.

...well, lordy, lordy, lookeeehere...ENGAGEMENT! ..ha-HAAA!

...I'm so LOVING you Kids comin' out of the woodwork to express your views on this story-line (and your character preferences); some of you, I haven't seen in YEARS! ...Allow me to reply...

@Jack: ...SUB Zero...Baking Soda has more character than Jeremy...

@ Frank: ...Hot Legs are supposed to LEAD to the 'backdoor', If Jeremy ain't giving it, let Levi get it from someone ELSE! ...and, if Greg ever gives Levi his voluptuous ASS back, I'll shout you out for thinking of me, Bubby! ...ha-HAA!

@Alabaster: ...I'm so LOVING your comment! ...LOTS of insightful points.....

@Alton: ..while I confess I thought of Jeremy as a 'Richard 2.0' when he returned, I actually was hoping for a more maturing approach to his character ; Greg gave him a hotter Bod & LOTS of Rocker T-shirts, but his indifferent personality, a lack of 'draw', & blah storylines for him, just don't....WORK....he, is DULLSVILLE, Baby...

&Markeece: ...thanks, Bubby! ...I love the strip, I just want Greg to always have...and, GIVE....The BEST.....

@wWranglerman: ..funny how Jeremy is an '...ass..', and we ALL see it, but Levi HAS an Ass, and we RARELY see it! ...no FAIR! ...ha-HAAA!

...CHOW-CHOW!

I never liked Jeremy and now I want him gone.

I went back and saw some of Jeremy's episodes and it's very easy to see why Lance dumped him. That whole interaction with Mannis was just terrible. He seems to be the guy who wants it HIS was or NO way. No compromise, no personal growth. Plus he's so dull and listless and passionless. Sorry folks but I think that Levi is a MUCH better match with Sergei. Plus: what's with covering Levi up all of sudden?

If Jeremy was so into the 'real' Levi, why did he completely ignore him up to this point? And sorry, but someone who never has a hair out of place, does care about looks/appearance.

As for how he treated Levi in this interaction, it borders on the cruel. Especially, with all the things Levi had dealt with over the past few years.

Levi would be better off thanking Jeremy for showing his true colours. Then move on to someone more deserving.

Then Richard can clue in Jeremy, that the whole makeover thing was for him.

Frank said...

While it's good Jeremy isn't the insipid airhead he seemed when introduced, he seems to have swung far the other direction without joy, a bit uptight and now cruel in his assessment of Levi's makeover (even if he is correct about it). Maybe Jeremy just needs to get f***** (by Mannis).

Anthony said...

And this is what happens when you don't use your own mind. Levi ( or no one else for that matter) shouldn't have taken advice from Richard. He possibly has lost an opportunity to be with Jeremy. We shall see.

Jack said...

The thing that I don't like about Jeremy is that he turned into a stereotypical, shallow, catty, gay man. He speaks about how someone looks. How would he feel if someone made stereotypes about Asians and their *ahem* small...things. No one should be judged like that. He can't see that Levi tried and to be honest with you, it's terrible. Like I said: I don't see any chemistry between them. Maybe he can get a personality transplant but I doubt it.

See Levi, you need to come out and say what you want.
you would have been better off just saying, Jeremy, let's have coffee, naked in bed - you up for that?

....Levi should add..., " ...and, you see this ASS!? ...you up, ON that!??" ....ha-HAAA!!
