I still stay Fletcher is Kyle's doppelganger -- and Richard wants to avoid Kyle having a freak out. Richard also wants to avoid Kyle figuring out that Richard has been in love with him for years, and is using Fletcher as his counterfeit Kyle.
....well, before I leave MY comment (it's going to sting this week)....I think, so, too, JM.... BUT......
...I think that BREYER will be the doppelganger; If Rich was dating a Kyle lookalike, he wouldn't notice it enough, to keep Kyle away....BUT, If 'Fletch' looked like Breyer, Kyle would be MEGA burned.....
....especially after Rich got drunk and wanted '...his Head between (Breyer's) thighs...', when he got drunk, and hit on him...... to be continued....
....OK, I held off commenting until I had my Coffee, for fear of being snippy, and taking it out in the comments.....but......I have some nitpicks, regardless.....don't hit me, Greg......
1. ....I do NOT like Kyle's hairdo, at ALL! ....almost ALL the character get seasonal makeovers, and I've become accustomed to it; Drew had the BEST, Levi the most unnecessary, Delia the most drastic (..twice, 1st as Beyonce, then Donna Summer), and Eduardo's 'Tom Cruise goes gay Hooker from Miami', brown feathered 'Do & Goatee look.....
....BUT, this cut (on Kyle) regressed his age, and he looks like a TEEN Tik-Tokker, not the early - mid 30's B&B Owner he is....my opinion.....
2. ...We waited for a VERY longtime for Sergei to return in the strip, and he says something like THAT!? ....I remember the previous time when Sergei suggested he had....'connections....' to Russia, and could '...make calls...' once, and that was a bit of a turnoff.... I know this was an 'opinion' of a (Foreign) crime-show watcher, but it throws off the lowkey humor of this strip.....MY opinion....
3. ....and there's SO many other characters that don't get full attention (or updates) anymore (Mannis, Rudy, Ed, Lisa, etc.); instead of stretching the mysterious 'wait' for Fletch, it would be nice to see some life changes for other characters...
...is Mannis Dating!? ...Is Ed graduating!? ...is Lisa moving in w/ Delia!? ...is Rudy's health declining? ...how are Nick & Dave!? ....SEE!??
....hooo, Boy, I'm becoming a Party pooper, I better get a glimpse of Levi's ASS to snap me outta this! ...ha-HAAA! ....CHOW......
Hmmm. This episode strikes me as Richard enjoying being mysterious and stringing his friends along.
I like the humor in Sergei's "He might be dead" comment. He's clearly teasing Darren. I suspect "Fletcher" may turn out to be a "regular guy" who comes off as boring and ordinary after Richard's big mystery build up!
Richard is creating the drama, and his friends are all into it. They're CONVINCED that the absence of any details MUST MEAN ----Something?!?
It's interesting to see the tables turned and Richard's business being probed, including an unsolicited background check. Richard is probably enjoying the attention, though getting a taste of his own medicine by the intrusion into his privacy. Unfortunately, last week a male corpse was violated by a man on the NYC subway - so Sergei isn't so far off (perhaps Greg was inspired by the incident when scripting Sergei's lines). As for Kyle's hairstyle making his appearance youthful, it might be Kyle now drawn as if he's had plastic surgery, or Botox. If his face is lifted any further he'll have a beard. We've all had fun imagining what's "wrong" with Richard's bf - I am thinking Fletcher is very young - barely legal, and Richard will be seen as "robbing the cradle". Then again, the B&B characters never age, so Fletcher will easily catch up.
Fletcher is likely extreme - very old, very young (like 19), overweight, short, ... or (God forbid) a MAGA Republican - lol. It would make for an interesting storyline that the one who seems the most superficial would fall for someone who doesn't have a 6-pack/model looks.
