The votes are in, and it is official! Richard has won the crown in a decisive victory! 👑
This is Richard's first win, and it's been a long time coming! His placement each year has been
varied; in general, he's usually placed around the middle of the pack, around 7th or 8th place.
Although he's had a couple of years where he came in second to last! His best showing was in
2012, (the first-ever Person of the Year competition), when he placed third. His most recent
high showing was 2020, when he placed sixth.
But, as you may know from watching these competitions over the years, things can change
dramatically when a certain character gets a significant story-line in the comic strip. And that
was definitely the case this year for Richard, as his pulse-pounding saga with Fletcher put him
directly in the spotlight for much of the year, (much to the chagrin of a subset of readers...and
to the delight of many others!). While there were some other stories going on at the B&B in
2025, nothing took up more panel-time than Richard's chatbot-romance-gone-bad.
Last year's winner Coach Dennis came in at a respectable second place this year; he had a fair
amount of story going on, as it was announced he'd be leaving Northport to take a coaching
position with his former team the Cardinals. Which led to some dramatic moments with Kyle,
(who happened to come in third place, one of his highest showings ever). And while we didn't
see the Coach nearly as often as Richard...when we did see him, we saw a lot of him, (he may
have given Price a run for his money in showing off his naked butt this year!). Cynics might
say that's why Coach had a high showing in the polls this year, but... I'm going to chalk it up
to his engaging character and his warm relationship with Kyle.
Rounding off the top 5 are Brad in 4th place and Eduardo in 5th. And bubbling up just below the
top 5 is Darren in 6th.
Our special sad trombone award 📯 goes to our THREE tied-for-last place winners, Dave,
Lance and Nick, who each got exactly TWO votes a piece! I suppose it's comforting to
know that none of them have to share that ignoble honor all by themselves. And to be fair, none
of them had much panel-time this year to justify them having any kind of a high placement in the polls.

...well, If Greg allows, may I give some ideas for 2026, with some (juicier) Story arcs that will rock the B&B's rafters!?? ...starting at the BOTTOM.........
NICK - ...Nick's getting mad that his Nephew (Rocco) may be falling for Richard, and shows a bit of......homophobia......which, does NOT please his Hubby Dave, at ALL.......could open up the topic of Gay Men who have an issue with the "..Dandys..".....
LANCE - ...goes to an event w/ Price, they get drunk, they have a HOT One Night Stand....leading to MONTHS of secret Sex, then leading to a reveal (and a breakup) with Drew....Jason comes back to whap on Prices' ASS again...Only for Lance to get Jealous (AGAIN), & come to the realization that.......he LOVES Price......uh-OH...........
DAVE - ...gets a promotion at Lance's Ad firm, as a Partner....only to find out about Lance's affair w/ Price; he threatens to tell Drew, Lance tries to get him fired..... GREAT topic about (Gay) loyalty in the Workplace.....
JASON - ....now working at Lance's company, only to get embroiled in DRAMA; Dave wants to sue Lance, Lance wants Price, Drew is hurt, Price is starting to have feelings for Jason, Jase consoles Drew....a KISS between them, happens.....uh-OH....
SERGEI - ....he teaches Hockey on the Weekends at a local rink, runs into a (Rival Team) Hockey player, gets embroiled in a REAL life "Heated Rivalry" moment....former Rivals, now secret LOVERS..... what to do, what to DO.......
MANNIS - ....Mannis decides to do some (side) carpentry Work, works for a Rich...and HOT....Irish Man who wants to re-do his Home Office.....the Guy is STRAIGHT, but....has a Son, sparking feelings of adopting (in Mannis), and becoming a Solo Dad...which HAPPENS, when the Hot Irish Man makes Mannis the Godparent to his Son....but, will he accept Mannis being GAY!? ....Part 2, a' comin......

JEREMY - ....gets tired of flying Solo, he quits his Steward position; hanging around Hawaii (at Home) is starting to irk him (AND Levi), and now ALSO wants to adopt a Kid.....Levi's not ready for it, sparking feelings for Mannis again, bringing out insecurities in Levi......will they last!?
DELIA - ...now living at the B&B, she tries to see if Lisa wants to settle down.....Lisa (who now has moved on, thanks to Delia ALWAYS hanging with the "Boys")... Delia wonders, if.....being a surrogate......may bring her closer the 'Boys' at the B&B....but WHO!??
PRICE - ....Boy, is he getting miles on that ASS! ...an affair w/ Price, catchin' feelings for Jason, feeling guilty around Drew, Brad getting jealous he's on the outs, as Price's 'desired One'......a good ASS is not a thing to waste, Price....
RUDY - ....Rudy runs into a former BFF, and they become close again; they get together and reminisce about "..Good Old Days..", leading to a "spin-off" strip about a HOT, YOUNG Rudys' days O' yore, in the 70's & 80's.....and, make him REAL sexy, Greg....... ; )
LEVI - ....realizes Jeremy is a REAL DRIP, he comes back to Northport (while letting Jeremy stay in Hawaii); Levi tightens up his Body, and becomes REAL HOT.....His Ass gets BIGGER, too....he's comfortable, so he doesn't have to Work, but helps Drew at his Social Worker job....ONLY wears tights Jeans & "Magnum P.I." shirts.....
DREW - ...breaks up w/ Lance, becomes VERY sad.....he realizes Lance & him were NOT compatible, leans on Jason's shoulder....then, leans in Jason's BED............... Part 3? ...OK.......
....ok, Part 3.....
DARREN - ...finally becomes a Cop, only gets 'Office' Work....he realizes they keep him close, because he's Gay....INSISTS on 'Beat' work.......gets shot during a heist......Eduardo is BESIDE himself, and Darren questions his choice of Work, wondering if....opening a Comic Book Store.......is safer.............. ; )
ED - ....F-I-N-A-L-L-Y graduates form College, tells NO ONE the date; Kyle wants to throw a shindig, Ed blows up....turns out, he's sad his (homophobic) Dad will never see him Graduate....Drew & Kyle FIND his Dad and they bond again, for Ed to have his Family (& the B&B) see him walk down the aisle...
....because, Darren proposed MARRIAGE, also........ ; )
BRAD - ....jealous as HELL that Coach Dennis is now a BIG Team Coach, he wonders why Dennis never offered him a Team League position.....then, Brad gets an offer...from a RIVAL Team! ...he has to take this Once-in-a LIFETIME offer....or, DOES he!??
KYLE - ...Kyle is missing Coach badly......then, while washing the dishes (at Night), someone is at the back Door......who is i--- ...Oh, my GOD........BREYER! ...full of Passion, He throws Kyle against the Fridge, and tells him he wants him BACK.....Kyle balks, but...Breyer's Kiss....Breyer's Back.....Breyer's THIGHS......
...And, upstairs, they GO..... uh-OH.........
COACH DENNIS - ....everything's OK with the new Job, he misses Kyle terribly.....but, he knows ZERO about Breyer's return.......but, Eduardo DOES........Coach has to decide.... ".. should I stay, or should I GO!??..."
RICHARD - ...Rocco, Rocco, Rocco...bada-bing, bada BOOM! ....is he serious!? ...is he GAY!? ...will he like me!? ....does he want me to stop dying my Hair!? ...does he.....WILL he......Love ME!???
....well, that was FUN! ...ha-HAAA! ...Thanks for letting me run amok, Greg...HAPPY NEW YEAR, Babe.....and I want 20% in residuals for the 'concepts'! ...HA-HAAA! ; )
