Brad's Dad (who I never knew was Robert Redford), is of a particular generation, and, Steve IS right, about children 'teaching' parents, after a certain lineage in Life....My OWN Dad was having trouble accepting that he has THREE Gay sons (I'm the eldest, at 56), but he had the MOST un-acceptance of the youngest, because of his effemininity...
..The youngest wanted to move in with me (late-90's?), because Dad didn't think 'effeminate' Gay Men wouldn't 'last' in this world; He wanted to know 'why' My youngest Brother couldn't 'act' like Me and my other sibling in terms of 'masculinity'(former Army / Navy Men, fitness buffs, etc..)
I called Dad, and told him that I WOULD take him in, BUT, for a 6 month period....I was gonna let him 'find his way' and, if he did, I wouldn't let him go back Home to Dad. ...Dad was FURIOUS with Me!
I told him that he (Dad) DID what he was supposed to do now, and now, it's time for "Lil' B" (my youngest's nickname) to go his OWN way.....We (Me & My middle Brother) went our OWN ways, and now, it's 'Lil B's 'time'.... whether he's 'soft'(Dad's way of explaining effeminate Men), or, NOT.
My youngest Bro DIDN'T move in with me then, but, he went away to College,got TWO Degrees, went to Hair styling school(2004?), got ANOTHER Degree, had TWO apartments, and now, does the hair privately for a VERY well known 70's Disco Singer on occasion, and made a LIFE of his own....
...does ''Lil B' have his OWN set of problems!? Yes, who DOESN'T!? BUT, when Dad got testicular cancer 3 years ago, who was close enough to Dad, dropped EVERYTHING to help him to chemo appointments, AND sent him coupons to Blimpies (Dad's FAV-OR-ITE food joint), for healthy 'Subs!?
....the 'soft' one. 🙄
...SO, let's hope Brad's Daddy will reconcile with Bradie-Boy, and LET Brad be what he WANTS to be; he loved you enough to be the best Baseball Player, NOW let him be... the Best BRAD.
..MAN!! I was just gonna talk about Steve's Ass in those tight jeans in Panel 3, how'd I write ALL of THAT!?? ..That damned Steve- OOPS! 😮 >sorry< ...ha-HAAA!!
