Kyle's B&B Person of the Year for 2025 - Richard Rubin !!! 👑

The votes are in, and it is official! Richard has won the crown in a decisive victory! 👑

This is Richard's first win, and it's been a long time coming! His placement each year has been 

varied; in general, he's usually placed around the middle of the pack, around 7th or 8th place. 

Although he's had a couple of years where he came in second to last! His best showing was in 

2012, (the first-ever Person of the Year competition), when he placed third. His most recent 

high showing was 2020, when he placed sixth.

But, as you may know from watching these competitions over the years, things can change

dramatically when a certain character gets a significant story-line in the comic strip. And that

was definitely the case this year for Richard, as his pulse-pounding saga with Fletcher put him

directly in the spotlight for much of the year, (much to the chagrin of a subset of readers...and

to the delight of many others!). While there were some other stories going on at the B&B in 

2025, nothing took up more panel-time than Richard's chatbot-romance-gone-bad. 

Last year's winner Coach Dennis came in at a respectable second place this year; he had a fair

amount of story going on, as it was announced he'd be leaving Northport to take a coaching

position with his former team the Cardinals. Which led to some dramatic moments with Kyle, 

(who happened to come in third place, one of his highest showings ever). And while we didn't

see the Coach nearly as often as Richard...when we did see him, we saw a lot of him, (he may

have given Price a run for his money in showing off his naked butt this year!). Cynics might

say that's why Coach had a high showing in the polls this year, but... I'm going to chalk it up

to his engaging character and his warm relationship with Kyle. 

Rounding off the top 5 are Brad in 4th place and Eduardo in 5th. And bubbling up just below the

top 5 is Darren in 6th. 

Our special sad trombone award 📯 goes to our THREE tied-for-last place winners, Dave, 

Lance and Nick, who each got exactly TWO votes a piece! I suppose it's comforting to

know that none of them have to share that ignoble honor all by themselves. And to be fair, none

of them had much panel-time this year to justify them having any kind of a high placement in the polls.

(and low lights!) in 2025:

 It's that time of the year again! (Just scroll down a bit for the poll and the instructions!). 

Who do you think was the star-player in the storylines of the B&B this year? Keep

in mind, this shouldn't necessarily be about voting for your favorite character, (although

 you can, if you want to). Ideally, this poll should be about voting for the character who

 really had a groundbreaking year in the B&B stories. 

Some big moments of the past year, for your consideration:

Richard had a banner year, (not to mention, almost getting killed!), as his

turbulent romance with Fletcher unfolded over the course of the year. Culminating

in the final showdown just a few episodes ago!

Kyle & Coach, though not as prominent as Richard, did have some moments as 

Coach was offered a job with the St. Louis Cardinals. 🐦 It appears he will be departing

soon, which should carry that story over into 2026. 

Delia had a few moments of spotlight, too, as she asserted herself on the baseball

field, as well as being among the first of the B&B residents to notice something

odd about Fletcher. 

Brad also had a few moments of spotlight, when he, (in briefs), and Kyle infamously went

snooping in Richard's room to gather info on the mysterious Fletcher. And later that 

year was seen on the baseball field with Coach, Kyle, and Delia. 

Darren & Eduardo, though not as prominent in the stories this year, made a memorable

trip to Roswell for the UFO festival, (in unforgettable costumes courtesy of Richard!). 

Voting ends on Tuesday, December 30th at 7:00 pm EST. Winner will be announced

 and the crowning ceremony 👑 will commence later on that evening. You can only vote

 once, so think carefully about your vote! (As always, in the unlikely event of a tie, or

if the poll is somehow compromised, the winner will be determined in a separate poll on the 

Kyle's B&B Patreon supporters page).
