Wow, didn't see that coming. I bet Breyer feels bad now for being so mean to his Mom.

On a side note, it's interesting to see that Richard has, once again, used his appalling fashion sense to actually improve someone else's looks. He should take his own advice!

Poor Breyer. Looks like his mother has once again dumped a load on his life. And as the dutiful son he's going to help her. I hope she isn't working him.

Even when Breyer's upset, he's sexy! ;-)

isn't he Canadian? Why is she here when she can get free treatment in Canada. Besides, not every lump is cancer although nice of Greg to bring this up right before breast cancer awareness month.

So let's see how much real life can be infused into this thread with possibilities. My bet is still a clean wrap up with no loose ends and no broken bones. She has no cancer, Breyer realized that he loves her but that she won't change, she moves on to yet another stop in her aimless life, and we will get back to Richard swooning after the next new top that will come to visit the B&B.

Of course in real life she will have cancer that will require a lot of attention and chemo and radiation and what not. Neither she no Breyer will have the money to support this illness under the wonderful medical system in the US. Kyle will tell Breyer that she can stay free of charge but he is not investing any money in this venture. Richard will score her the pot she needs for her nausea. It will scare new customers away and Kyle will lose money so he will tell Breyer that she has to move in with him. Breyaer will be hurt and they will break up, coz that's what happens in real life.

But no worries ... this is just a comic strip.

So you just shows up when she needs to . How convenient. While I do sympathize with her condition - it's a heck of a way to just dump it on someone. We don't know the extent of her condition either, I think she is still a louse regardless. I mean ,I'd try and do the good thing for her but she needs to help herself. If she loved Breyer she wouldn't just drop by when she needed something rather to just say I missed you and I love you. I hope she gets the help she needs and then either makes the decision to be a more loving person in his life and become more visible or stay out of his life alltogether. I mean at least when i was apart from family overseas ,I wrote to them often.

This story line will fizzle to nothing in no time. This is not a comic strip that concentrates on women's health issues or the state of medical care in the US. Thus either she just has a scare and it's nothing which is 99% of the cases or she moves to another location for treatment and he does or does not move with her , etc. Nothing is ever discussed here in any in-depth manner. This is a comic strip for entertainment not for deeper examination of real issues. I mean we have had Aides,bi-racial couples (not to mention dealing with being black and gay which is a whole 'nother issue), 9-11, adoption, and transgenders to name a few. None of these was treated with more than the usual tired cliches.

Still, for a comic strip, this is one of the better ones and at least it recognizes that there are issues.
