...uh-OH, Kyle is about to have a Florida Evans ("Good Times") 'Damn, Damn, DAMN' moment...hide the PUNCHBOWL, Ed!! ...Ha-HAAA!!
...I kinda like how Ed handled this, by eeeeasing into the topic, giving Kyle the news, and telling Kyle that he LOVES him too much, to not say anything; a REAL friend would approach it that way (actually,at first I thought Ed should've sat Kyle down privately, but, it looks like Ed wanted to tell him IMMEDIATELY, and comfort him, if need be....
...on the other hand, and, let's be H-O-N-E-S-T; (some) Gay Men, who would have a smokin' Hot stick O' Beef Jerky like Breyer as a Boyfriend, may KNOW he may wanna 'tip off into the woods' time-to-time, and may ummm...look the other way...who's to say, Kyle didn't have that "hear no evil, see no evil" understanding with Breyer?
...I (personally)had a SSSSMONIN' hot Ex, that looked like Christopher Meloni, and, it was TIRESOME to beat Men (& WOMEN!!) off with muhFISTS, and yet, I lost him ANYWAY, so......
...I'm loving this, Greg...DON'T wrap it up in a pretty 'lil bow, 'eh!??... We NEED to follow this storyline, in DEPTH...so when Kyle confronts Breyer, we can watch his DEATH!! ....ha-HAAA!!!
I'm sure no one will agree with me, but whenever someone says something like "I'm telling you this because I love you," he is about to destroy your life.
Eduardo is wrong to insert himself into something that is none of his business. And he must know that, no matter how this ends up, the two men whose business it in fact really is will be very unhappy.
@RBS7079 and @ethan2chris, I'm with both of you on this. Yes, if my boyfriend were cheating on me, I'd want to know. But the friend who tells me -- I may come to see him as the skunk at the garden party.
However, you, as well as Eduardo, are jumping to conclusions. Breyer is there for some reason other than sex -- maybe he's leaving the rubbers to promote safe sex practices -- maybe he's a Guardian Angel and looking for the guy who's bashing gay men there, because the local police couldn't give a hoot about some -- insert not nice word for gay men here -- getting beaten up.
Breyer's not a cheater. Kyle is upset in this episode, but his reaction is out of character. Kyle is more the trusting, secure, and confident type who knows who his boyfriend is.
Ed handled this just right: finding out if Kyle would WANT to know, first, and then telling him. It honestly would never have occurred to me to approach it this way; I would have just assumed Kyle would want to know, and told him. Very mature of Ed.
Looking forward to Kyle's confrontation with Breyer (I'll admit, I was never a Breyer fan, so this is extra sweet).
In my opinion, Ed should have waited and given Breyer the opportunity to "fess up" to Kyle about his actions (regardless of whether he is cruising, distributing condoms, being a guardian angel, whatever). While I approve of Ed's intent (protection of his friend) and his approach, his timing seems too "tattletale-ish".
...Hey Bennie, I'm so LUVING your comment...I DO agree with you, that Brey should be given a chance to 'fess', but, WOULD he!? ...He HAD to have known Ed was going to say something to Kyle....
...while I do think there will be a (supposedly) reasonable explanation for Breyer's 'appearance', at a cruising spot, I'm hoping there ISN'T... I'm liking the differences of opinion, here, on Ed's 'tattletale-ing', which stirs up real-life situations, MANY Gay Men experience....
...who HASN'T 'hooked up' on Grindr, and,...OOP! ..saw a BFF's Boyfriend, lookin' for "action"? ...WHAT do we DO? WHAT do we SAY? ...DO we say!??
...I respect everyone's opinion(s) here, at the 'B&B', which differ, but, it bring back the 'thrill' to the storylines, again...keep this UP, Greg, it's got People talkin'....
I agree with you totally. If that were my friend and who knew me much longer than I have had a boyfriend, I'd want to know because if I found out that he knew and didn't tell me, then he wouldn't be my friend. Newsflash people: A TRUE friend will give you the 411 upfront. It won't always be sweetness and light sorority trips in terms of friendship. And no, I'm not just saying this because Breyer isn't hung.
I agree -- if my friend knew my partner was fooling around on me (or possibly fooling around on me), I'd want to hear about it. I honestly didn't realize that there would be different opinions about that.
Maybe the differences have to do with personal experience? I know my opinion is informed by my friends telling me after the fact and wishing I'd known all along. In fact, my friends told me my boyfriend had hit on *them* and saved that information for later. Still confused about that choice.
In any case, I agree with RBS7079 -- I'm loving the drama and the discussion it's stirred up. Another great storyline!
Fortunately, I don't have to worry about MY boyfriend cheating on me. I always know where he is at night: on the west side of the military cemetery. Yes, he was killed in action. But not the kind of action you'd be thinking of.
Some argued that Eduardo should stay out of this. Well, I have a similar dilemma many years ago in my college days. Jessica was seeing Reyes. I hate Reyes. Jessica was/is my best friend. On one weekend when Jessica went out of town, I was at a house party, in one of these rooms, I walked in and caught Reyes forcing himself on Karen.
The next morning, Karen asked me to stay out of this affair. I told her and I'm not getting involved.
3 days later on Tuesday evening, I got a note from Jessica saying I have to see her. I went to see her, she slapped me so hard that I slapped her back. I did not know why she slapped me - it turns out that Karen went to see her and told her the truth - Jessica was shocked, Karen then said, "Wait ... Ricky never told you about this?" That's why Jessica slapped me because I did not tell her about what Reyes did.
So what did I do wrong? I should still stay out of this or ... be involved to protect my best friend?
You should've told her if that was truly your friend. You should've tried to project her. She's hurt thrice. Once from her best friend and the other from her bf and another from a practical stranger.
I think people just laying this at Eduardo's feet aren't looking at the entire comic. Eduardo was there with Darren and both of them saw Breyer coming out of this space. Eduardo needed to tell Kyle about this. Not that Darren is a gossip, but I'm sure it will come out from him saying to someone, oh, guess what, Breyer was at this cruising spot...or Breyer gets arrested at this spot. Friendship, true friendship, is about telling your friend the good and the bad and whatever decision they make, standing by them. Breyer has some serious explaining to do, and he should have just stated whatever it was right then and there with Darren and Eduardo, but then again, there wouldn't be a storyline if he did.
A very astute observation and comment. As a friend, I'd want someone to tell me if that had been me. A true friend will be there. The one who should be guilty is Breyer. Eduardo did the right thing.
I think accusing Eduardo of "not minding his own business" is wrong. If I had been cheated on by my boyfriend and came to know that one of my best friends knew it all along, I"'d lose any trust in the friend and probably my friendship too.
It should also be noted that 1) Eduardo did -not- look for trouble, he just stumbled on Breyer by chance, and 2) the scene probably happens after some days the encounter at the park, so Breyer had the time to come clean with Kyle.
On the other hand, Eduardo probably didn't handle it too well: after all, he doesn't know what happened exactly, even though the evidence is not in Breyer's favour. I would probably have confronted Breyer before going to Kyle, asking for explanations and telling to tell Kyle before going to Kyle.

Want to end your friendships? Insert yourself in the middle of their relationships.

There is a code among my friends when something like this happens.Eduardo should keep his mouth closed.

Im dealing with a similar situation. My boyfriend died 3 days ago and threw grief is too much...

Wow, Jack -- that's terrible. I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you have some support through this difficult time.
