.....I'm hoping that there will be SOME degree of conflict (in a story arc), with Fletch, because of the timely wait....I recently looked at the story arc with Levi (on the bench, in the Blizzard), and THAT was wrapped up in 3 Episodes! ...and, I STILL miss Levi!
...So, let's hope 'Fletch' is HOT, too, because the wait, is AGONIZING..................................Chow...... ; )
[Cue Minor chords!!!] So if Rudy has THAT reaction, Fletcher must have a past - or at least he's over 35, given Rudy's likely frame of reference for "young" men. Fletcher is probably someone's long lost relative or somehow familiar.
I still say (once again) that I think Fletcher is Kyle's doppelganger -- and that Richard was too afraid to bring him to the B&B and (tacitly) admit that he has been in love with Kyle forever.
Don't think it would be Breyer since Rudy would have recognized the voice first.

1. ..Breyer just LEFT Kyle, and hasn't been seen or heard from, therefore expunging that character, (&his neuroses) and becoming 'reformed', for Rich....
2. ...EVERYBODY knows Rich had a thing for Breyer (& was envious that Kyle got him), when he got drunk, and hit on Breyer, w/ Rich exclaiming that, "...Head between your thighs..." line....
3. ....Breyer was a LOVED Character, even though his exit left him with a Villainous aftertaste; Greg possibly wanted to 'rebrand' him, and get him out of Breyer's black tank tops & bikini briefs, and give the character a 'lighter' vibe.......
.....BUT, I wish SOMEONE would show up in Bikini briefs, again.....Somebody, PLEASE!! ...ha-HAAA! .....Chow-Chow.....; )
I still say that Fletcher is a AI-constructed boyfriend. Richard may have described Breyer when he "built" him. The actual Breyer would probably know the denizens of the B&B. Another thought...that AI driven boyfriend could be Broccoli-Headed Kyle or Bodacious-Buns-in-Briefs Brad! Presumably Richard thinks Kyle would be the perfect boyfriend or husband. Rudy just discovered his secret. Rudy will keep it to himself or have a heart-to-heart with Richard. Whatever happens, we will see a very vulnerable side to Richard. Kyle will come to his rescue -- not as the prince to sweep him off his feet but as the understanding friend that he is to all.
the theory about Fletcher being a previous guest of the B&B or being related to the B&B somehow in the past doesn't compute with Fletcher's reaction: such person would never say "told me so much about all of you at the B&B", and if he were pretending not to know, they wouldn't have allowed Rudy to see them with the chat.
Of course it could be someone who's old, but that's an issue already introduced with Rudy so it would feel a bit of a copycat storyline. A rather shocking development could be that Fletcher is a woman, but they identify themselves as "Richard's boyfriend" so that's not it. It could be someone woman-passing, but that's a bit of a stretch.
The only explanation for such reticence from Richard's side (reticence that, should be noted, is not at all from Fletcher's side, who seems totally oblivious of it) and for Rudy's shock is that Fletcher is a doppleganger of someone at the B&B.
Maybe Fletcher looks like “Terrance”, hence Rudy being in place to view the call. It’s surprising Richard would leave his phone and call unattended; that’s this week’s plot device. I hope the reveal is next strip and not a disappointment. The buildup feels as long as Cher’s (latest) farewell tour and anticipation is waning.
This makes the most sense to me, given what little we know, and especially given Rudy's reaction. Fletcher could actually BE Terrence's identical cousin that showed up to apologize to Rudy after Terrence died. Though why the name would be different, I don't know... I'm sure we were told Terrence's cousin's name; I don't remember it, but I"m sure it wasn't Fletcher.
Wait... wasn't Terrence the ACTUAL name of the guy "Terrence" was pretending to be? Maybe he changed his name after the scandal of his cousin's attempted murder and subsequent death.
....looking back on this post (along with my evening glass O' Red Wine), I think I may have to agree with Wrang......
....If we notice, 'Fletch' is manipulating the convo with Rudy, with perfunctory greeting, questions & directions; AI "Robots" are designed to be directed as such, to converse with Humans.....
....AND, Rich possibly 'used' Breyer's image, since... 1. ...Breyer's not around, after the breakup w/ Kyle... 2. ...concerned w/ Kyle's thoughts, over it... 3. ...had a LONGTIME 'thing' for Breyer.....
