DENNIS: "...Are we gonna TALK about it!?..." KYLE: "....There's NOTHING to talk about...."
....oh, Yes there IS, Kyle............
1. ....I find it a tad hard to believe that Brad (who's been in the Minors for 1,377 Years) DIDN'T tell Kyle about Managerial positions (in the Majors), and how it's a YEAR 'round Gig, so Kyle should've been DEVASTATED right off the Bat....
2. ...NEITHER has said "...I Love You..." yet, Dennis still has his House, and discussions about a Long Distance relationskip SHOULD'VE been already discussed...but how Kyle deflected about Breyer's cheating shows he may NOT have 'wiggle room' in his relationships....
3. ....Kyle ALSO seems to have docile part in his relationships, because he seems to ALWAYS land beefy, Older Hairy "Daddies" with "Stanley Kowalski" traits, where they bang Kyle into the mattress (with their fine, Juicy n' TIGHT behinds), and Kyle has no SAY in the relationship......
.....time to put YOUR 'Pants' on, Kyle.....TALK..........
Coach can't turn the offer of a lifetime. Even if it means the end of the road for him and Kyle. Kyle should already know this -- unless they shaved him too close when they gave him that awful broccoli hairdo.
Coach will accept the position, as he should. If he does not, he will eventually be so angry with himself and Kyle that their relationship will sour and end. There's really no where else to go. Kyle has roots and a huge part of his identity is being the homemaker who creates and provides a safe space for all. If he gave that up to move to St. Louis with Coach, he would eventually resent it.
For all of these men, what they do is a huge part of their personality and and self identity. Kyle recognizes that Coach has no choice. "Not knowing" about the 12-month nature of the job will not change anything - it will just draw out the poignancy a bit longer. Coach will leave, Kyle will be alone, and someone else will come along - that's the transient nature of these relationships.
Personally, I'm holding out for a competitive bodybuilder trainer type to move into the house and stir things up! REALLY take the "Buff Body" aesthetic to the MAX!! Or what about a Hyper-masculine Instagram influencer with muscles everywhere, a basso profundo voice that makes Barry White sound like a tenor, and smile that will melt steel! YOWZA! LOL
"....Personally, I'm holding out for a competitive bodybuilder trainer type to move into the house and stir things up! REALLY take the "Buff Body" aesthetic to the MAX!!"
....I've BEEN wantin' THAT, Comix! ....ha-HAAA! ....BUT...................I think it's fair to say that almost ALL the Guys at the B&B are actually "Buff Bodies", so a REAL competitive Bodybuilder won't actually stand out......
....BUT, after that loooooooooong drawn out "Fletch" story arc, I don't think readers will be ready for ANOTHER 'Hot Influencer' storyline, also (Mannis actually came to the B&B because he WAS a Youtube influencer, being a Hot Scot in a Kilt)....
....AND, there's SO many unfinished story arcs with who we HAVE; where's Jason!? ...how's Levi!? ...where the F*CK is Mannis!?? ....SEE!? ...ha-HAAA!
Maybe it's me but Kyle's new hairstyle is making him appear much younger than he was previously looking...it makes me wonder if "Coach Dennis" has a thing for (much) younger guys. I'm not saying he's "Pedo Coach" but one does wonder.
As for the storyline, I appreciate that Greg throws real life issues into the story.
This is constructive criticism. Kyle is finishing getting dressed while Dennis lounges on a made bed wearing an unbuttoned shirt and socks. The setting implies that they have just made love. But it doesn't make sense. The bed is made. There's no sign of Coach's trousers or underwear. We can still get a gander of Coach's great glutes (and perhaps Kyle's too), if both were getting dressed with an unmade bed in the background. Or coach lounging naked on the rumpled sheets while Kyle dresses. Please, this is constructive editing. My own more subjective criticism is that Kyle should lose that broccoli head. He looks like a teenager.
...ha-HAAA! .....Wrang noticed the 'made' Bed, too!
...I was GOING to mention that in my first post (which I removed, because I didn't want to look nitpicky), and also, I KNEW it would lead me into complainin' about that BROCCOLI HEAD!
...but since we're being 'constructive'.....Greg has ALWAYS used HAIR as a personality trait amongst his characters; almost EVERY character shows up, gets a 'makeover' (mostly from Rich), and the story arc starts......
- ..Drew shows up with a George Michael 'Faith' cut, gets makeover into his long banged / Beard combo....
- ...Jeremy had several haircuts, but he was SO bland, that became his ONLY Story arc that made him interesting!....
- ...Eduardo's 'spiky' hairdo is jettisoned into an auburn Brown, layered, feathered Tom Cruise-esque 'Do (with chin goatee) that was SO dramatic, he looked like a new character! ....Greg eased Ed back into a more updated 'spike'.....
..Delia went from looking like Tracy Chapman, to MC Lyte, to Beyonce, to Donna Summer, to 90's Dance Singer Lissette Melendez......
- Levi....who needed NOTHING changed....got a Haircut that I can't even REMEMBER, I hated it so much! ...his long shag (& Big Butt) FITTED his personality, and set him apart from everyone else!
...and we KNOW about Richard.......
.....But, I want STORIES! ...DRAMA! ...THRILL! ....Yes, it's a B&B, but it's also a STRIP, we need Story arcs that are current topics that resonate with GAY PEOPLE...... and I think it's safe to say 16 Year Old Tik-Tokked Broccoli cuts aren't "cut"-ting it, with THIS demographic.......my Opinion.... ; )
As long as we're doing constructive criticism - I'll overlook Kyle's terrible grammar (double negative - must get that from Brad). Nice of Coach to make the bed then lay suggestively upon it. Coach must take this job. Aside from it being his dream and once in lifetime opportunity, we know Dennis struggles financially. He's no spring chicken, and he needs security as he ages - medical benefits, money towards social security, 401K, etc. St. Louis is an inexpensive place relative to Long Island, he could really thrive there (aside from the state's terrible red-state politics). They can try making long-distance work - absence makes the heart grow fonder.
It seems there's a recurring theme; increasingly BnB residents are disconnected from their partners: Lance/Drew have grown apart. Price isn't really connecting even with people with whom he hooks up, Richard....., Mannis lost his love, Ed and Darren are good - for now. Dennis and Kyle have this hiccup, Nick and Dave we presume are good as we never see them. Delia has yet to connect with Lisa, Long Island's only other woman. Mannis lost Jeremy to Levi (and Hawai'i). Rudy isn't meeting anyone; "Terrance" was never interested. Jason is MIA. The BnB is a lonely place lately - maybe there's love to be found in Everhard Woods.
"....The BnB is a lonely place lately - maybe there's love to be found in Everhard Woods...." ....One HOPES! ..ha-HAAA!
...But, YES, Frankie Baby....This Year (admittedly) is possibly the least interesting Year in (possibly) this strip ENTIRE History; aside from Hairdo makeovers APLENTY, there were NO grabbing story arcs, and EIGHT MONTHS of "Fletch" wore me OUT....
...THIS One is shaping up, because of relationship balance situations, but ...where's the THRILL!?
....I WOULD'VE said "..Where's The BEEF?..", but there's NO shortage in Everhard Woods! ...ha-HAAA! ...ah, Me......
Kyle can't leave (the strip is named after him - lol). If the coach doesn't take the job, he will likely regret it. So I think Kyle will end up where he always is - alone.

Great detective work, WM! You're a regular Fagatha Christie!
