....hopefully, we can now 'delete' this looooong story arc.........
...although this arc took a wild turn, Greg seems to have shone a light on the ramifications of how Social Media generated "AI" tactics can LITERALLY 'take over' Ones' Life....Richard didn't even have control over his own CAR!
....look, I know the World has become a tad topsy-turvy lately; Political issues, challenges of Gay Marriage (they're secretly working on overturning it, Kids), the shrinking of benefits, and the "addictions" of Social Media.....If anything, THIS is now the Time, to 'delete' the apps (or, put them down), and to look out for YOURSELF, and/or, your fellow (Gay MAN)......
....Richard didn't want to go over a cliff, because he loved HIMSELF..... just remember, to have some 'Love', for YOU, and do something that has NOTHING to do with Social Media..........
Paint. Draw. Dance. Read. ...have brunch with a BFF. Talk. Walk. Sit. Donate.
.....you don't need anything "Artificial' to TELL you to do that, do ya!??? ........CHOW......................................
This arc allowed Richard's character to (somewhat) shine. We saw his loneliness, his attempts to remedy that by using technology, and ultimately, his own resourcefulness in saving himself.
This was a nice interlude with just Richard as himself. From what I've seen - and I've only been following this strip for a year or two, Richard does not seem to really interact with most of the other members of the house. Maybe his potential friendship with Rocco will lead to him developing other interests.
Say, what if Richard had a conversation with Rocco about the internal electronics systems on cars and how you can modify them to prevent them from being hacked, and THAT CONVERSATION leads Richard to develop an interest in actual, hands on work, either with cars directly or with associated IT.
Then he and Rocco have a shared interest. Otherwise, Richard seems so isolated from everyone.
The shared events at the B&B, such as the annual pumpkin fest/harvest seem to be an attempt to bring everyone together. They are also an opportunity for Greg Fox to demonstrate his awesome artistic chops in depicting characters!
That was an abrupt ending. Im surprised fletcher didnt lock out the delete option since he took control of everything else. I wonder if this is the last we'll see of him. Might have a guy show up at the BNB who looks just like him ,fletcher takes on human form.
Could it be . . . The Fletcher AI program was created by a mad homophobic programmer who is taking his rage and frustration out on the gay community? Could it be he's secretly gay? Could it be Fletcher is HAL's love child? Only time will tell!
I'm confused - Fletcher can inhabit all devices and drive a car (something many of the smartest New Yorkers can't do) but he couldn't change the relationship status himself or prevent deletion (Robocop, Terminator anyone?). Anyway - we suspend disbelief for a bit - though I doubt we've seen the last of Fletcher (sigh). I'm excited to see what happens at the house for Thanksgiving and the gathering of all the characters for Christmas. Maybe Rocco will give Richard what he really wants - to be loved. Time will tell.

That is the answer to many of the problems created by garbage social media -- delete your account.

Amen to that! Less screen time!

....DON'T give Greg anymore ideas, we've gotta wrap this Storyline UP! ...ha-HAAA! ; )
I still say this is Richard's Dream Sequence. He never actually met Rocco -- but he will meet someone very similar the next day.
....agreed.............. ; )
