Yessssssssssssss!! This is why I love Sergei. He may be brusque and brutally honest. But if you come after someone he cares about, you will be dealing with a very annoyed Russian Bear.
Sure, Sergei bullies his fanboy into sudden acceptance of his trans teen. It's a little too neat and unrealistic. While the dad may learn stereotypes aren't always true, and maybe no one would choose sexual orientation at odds with the family, I don't know about this writing. For all we know, Dad is appeasing Sergei for the autograph rather than learning about and accepting his daughter. Maybe there's more coming in next chapter, besides fear and threats.
....well, even though I thought Kyle would handle this, Sergei's RAGE seemed to quelch the situation pretty QUICKLY! ...ha-HAAA!
..First, let's give Greg some Artistic love...LOVE how Sergei is drawn in panels 6&8! ...we get to see the 'Papa Bear' aspects of him again!
...Now, the situation; We've seen acts of H-omophobia play out like this for many Years, but it would've been interesting to see how it played out for GIRLS..... Delia rarely gets Story arcs, and it would've been nice to see her navigate the Father's biases, dealing with a young Girl who may have "Tomboy" tendencies, or maybe wants to transition (even though she labeled herself, a 'Girl" when we first met her) .....
....and, will she be temporarily be staying!? ...that BARN (remodeled with Price's cash) is still s-i-t-t-i-n-g there, with no extra Guests.... anyhoo, It was nice to see Sergei ROAR again! ....ha-HAAA!
...anyone who reads the strip knows Greg ties things up nicely (for Story related arcs), and he rarely gets "..dark..."; We all know the Dad won't change his way of thinking because he a Hockey Player he dug Years ago but, it's a light strip that approaches real-life situations with Kid gloves, from time-to-time.......
...and there's more to come, seeing that Greg indicated there was a reason Sergei has been answering the Door.....to be continued.............. ; )
