I have to say, Ed knows how to piss people off. To assume that Nick was telling him that he wanted him back is so egotistical of Ed. To assume Nick is not being "satisfied" is just way too much "I am hot, you know you want me" kind of attitude and damn presumptuous.
Not to mention here he is, trying to make up for the way he treated Jake, being such a "cock tease" and yet he cannot admit that he fraked up.
Ed needs to grow up if he is planning on dating older men.
I have to say this was quite hard to believe. Eduardo is suddenly mean and insensitive for the sake of some contrived melodrama. He usually gently banters with Nick despite their vaguely estranged relationship. There is quite a contrast between Ed and Dave. I think it needs to be said that Dave doesn't get to be sexy like Eduardo does which verges on being quite offensive to gay men with disabilities. Dave is never in any provocative poses almost as if he is the only guy in the strip aside from Rudy who is not allowed to be overtly sexy. In order for him not to be a token character Dave ought to be desired by men aside from Nick. Otherwise the hierarchy of sexiness that Nick, Jake Rudy and Dave push against is just being reinforced when Eduardo, Lance, Drew, Brad and Breyer are the men that are continually constructed as the most desirable.
Wait -- how is this Ed's fault, though? He and Jake didn't have a "relationship" conversation after making out. And from what we've seen, Jake's very next move is to invite Ed out on a very specific ticketed event date. Ed already had plans. Jake overreacted and didn't actually ask for a date on a different day.
Jake then runs and unloads on Nick, both of them running with the wrong idea.
Nick then attacks Ed about something that is none of Nick's freaking business. Of course Eduardo's going to snap back at Nick -- any of us would.
Nick's wrong. Jake was wrong. Eduardo's frankly being more mature than EITHER of the "older" guys here.
Just like Nick to be sticking his nose where it doesn't belong...
Drama girl!
Second Anonymous is right!
agree with second anonymous ... Nick is such an asshole!!!
Nick should realize his mistake and apologize to Eduardo ... otherwise i am gonna be pissed!!!
Nick was out of line and jake needs to get over himself ,Eduardo is not his property. A little petting and he's ready to get married?. He went off and got tickets for a concert without even asking Eduardo first and just shoves it in Eduardo's face at the last minute and then gets all butt hurt when Eduardo has already made plans.Again Jake get over yourself. I can't stand a guy who feels sorry for himself especially a middle-aged guy. I like Nick even less now it was bad enough that eduardo felt guilty when he didn't do anything wrong and then he has to put up with Nicks crap, if anything Nick can fuck off, I never liked his character . he's as loathsome as Price
This is what I don't understand: Why did Jake even say anything to Nick in the first place? By doing so he INVOLVED Nick and so naturally Nick responded to his co-workers' concern. It's what any of us would've done so let's not pretend otherwise!.....That being said: Eduardo hit Jake with a low blow in stating that Jake's crippled lover isn't satisfying him and that Jake "wanted" him. That's the OLDEST gay trick in the book....But all of you here say that Eduardo is "innocent" when he isn't. He DOES have daddy issues and that's a fact and it's one of the reasons to which Lance dumped him long ago. He has a codependent personality and that's not good and will likely get worse....But you all can keep fooling yourselves if you want to, gay men are pros at that type of thing
Am I the only one who's tired of Jake and his stomach? Can't we get back to Brad and Price? That would be an interesting partnership, because Price is a genuine crumbun while Brad, despite minor flaws, has good instincts.
And they're great-looking.
I think I'll reiterate and restate some points I made on Tuesday. I love Kyle's Bed and Breakfast. However, it should be pointed out though that every year there are some ill-conceived plots thrown in that have the men of the BNB doing things completely out of character for them. These are formulaic plots that are gratuitous soap opera nonsense and not befitting the quality of the comic. In this episode Eduardo doesn't act like himself and Nick seems far too concerned about Eduardo and Jake's dating. He never made any comments about Eduardo's other relationships and is he Jake's instant best friend now? It sure seems premature for him to be caring so much about Jake...Also I think Eduardo as a character deserves better than this particular plot. I thought it was melodramatic and ridiculous. Jake deserves a better plot too. I like his stomach, he is great looking to me. Jake, Rudy and Dave push against the hierarchy of sexiness that only favors guys who look like Price, Brad, Breyer, and Kyle too for that matter. Unfortunately this is the limited norm in gay culture which is why I love that there's actually a range of men and people in the comic now. And further on that topic Dave (Nick's husband to be) as a character started out with such great potential but gradually went back to being a very minor "issue" character like Morgan, Sean, Matthias...
I agree with you about the lesser characters like Matt, Sean and even Morgan being neglected. Those characters are far more interesting than a lot of the main characters. Nick was involved due to Jake. This is because Jake disclosed information about Eduardo and himself. But I agree with you about some of these plots are ill conceived....I don't like Eduardo at all. One of the lesser characters is more interesting to me. I miss Dave though. I thought that he along with Rudy are FAR more interesting that Nick, Jake or Eduardo! Really...But Eduardo is nothing more than a little boy seeking validation
Anonymous, Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 1:33:00 PM EDT ==> no one is saying Eduardo is a total innocent angel -- but in THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION he hasn't done ANYTHING wrong.
Eduardo didn't do a thing wrong with Jake. It was Jake who goofed by expecting Eduardo would be magically free for a date -- and then it was Jake, again, who ran off without any other conversation with Eduardo. Jake just jumped to a HUGE conclusion (that Eduardo wasn't interested in a date AT ALL, and not just unavailable for a date THAT NIGHT) and ran off.
Jake compounded his error by talking to Nick. And Nick is sort-of being a loyal friend to Jake but also being a jerk to Eduardo.
Yeah, in the latter half of the conversation, Eduardo makes a few low-blow comments to Nick... but by that point, Nick totally deserved them.
And I think it's overly reductive to suggest that Eduardo is nothing but "daddy issues". Especially when the more mature gay men are acting so childishly here. Of the three of them, Eduardo has acted the most honorably and maturely in this who situation.
