....well, I'm a bit late to this strips' debut (my internet...ummm ...'fios'd OUT' on me, after a rainstorm), and, I may come off a bit snippy, soooo, here GOES...
As MUCH as I Love Greg, and have been a VERY avid reader of this strip (I swear, I've lit-er-ally been reading it, since it's 1998 debut), I get somewhat perplexed when a storyline gets 'trumped' before it even began, and wrapped up before any 'action' begun....
...Greg's storylines (at times) tend to suffer from 'niceness'; He seems protective of the characters as to not let them enter uncharted 'bad' territory, and then, the 'pretty bow' comes out, and 'wraps' the story up; a PERFECT example, was Mannis' 'secret fetish'...Gay Men (& some sapphic lovelies) read the strip, so we won't be shocked by a 'fetish' that we KNEW would be made up, but we didn't even FIND OUT what it was, in Greg's 'fear' of making Mannis LOOK 'dirty'....
I cannot speak for Greg (I'm just stating MY opinion), in regards to his storyline process, but, maybeee, some outside writers may help 'shake up' the B&B in 2021..They ALL could have some hot, titillating, situations, but all they do is...TALK, and then, it's wrapped up in 3 story panels...
....BUTT, Price can still gratuitously walk around pantless, swingin' his STICK...his LACROSSE stick...'cause I'm a Horny Ol' Bitch that still LOVES to look at half-dressed, juicy cartoon characters, ha-HAAA!! >thisaintNOScoobyDoo<

I agree that the strip's pacing tends to expand and then quickly contract by resolving tension within a few panels. But in this case, I think it's more than "niceness" that's driving the action.
There's been a lot of tension between Brad and Price since the abrupt (and apparently amazing) blowjob in the car. That sex scene alone shows how much this storyline diverges from other recent B&B plots.
But now Brad and Price are meeting in the middle, which shows character growth on both their parts. Price is actually self-aware in this installment, which is not his usual MO. And Brad is confronting the situation straight on (gay on?) instead of running away, a departure for him as well.
Brad is definitely being generous to Price by granting his desire to finish the barn alone together. But I have a feeling that he's getting exactly what he wants out of it, too. So not so much "nice" as "passively testing out a future relationship with the new-and-slightly-improved Price." I call that progress.
And there's always the specter of Jamie's return to dial up the drama should these two try to make a go of it.
Your mileage may vary, as they say. And you have been reading this strip longer than I have, so I could be totally off-base. But I clearly enjoy this storyline, so I wanted to attempt to defend it. Just my two cents.

...Brad DOES come off caring for Prices' feelings, and Price KNOWS he 'popped off'(..not in the way he PLANNED!), BUT...It's been QUITE sometime that any of the characters become deeply involved: Mannis / Jeremy's evolving union fizzled out, Drew / Lance has disappeared, Breyer / Kyle haven't kissed, Richard & Rudy walk the halls alone...
...as I said, I L-O-V-E Greg, his strip, and the characters, but I've been stating for AWHILE that 'growth' needs to happen for all of them; COVID is probably hampering new characters to come in, but the new Barn extension SHOULD bring in SOME change....

I would like to know what's going on with Drew and Lance, too. I guess this is the downside of serialization. Only so many characters and so much story progress can happen every two weeks.
I think I'll treat myself to some of the early collections for Christmas, to bide the time during lockdown and while we're waiting for Brad and Price to give that barn a good once-over. ;)
I want to come to Greg's defense. First, it's a comic strip, and Greg may not have the time to drag a story out.
But I also like how there is resolution in the conflicts at the B&B.
Brad and Price may now be able to move forward with a true relationship of friendship. That contrasts with the bitchiness, envy, and downright meanness that some gay men exhibit towards other gay men.
Yes, drama is fun. But it needs to come to an end after a time.

...I necessarily don't want depressive 'drama', but..ACTION; remember Price & Lances' cake fight? Richard pulling a Gun on Price? Eduardo caught in the sack with the Bisexual dude? ...THAT kinda 'action'...
2020 was ALL the 'dramatic' we could handle, so Price shouldn't be the ONLY one delivering it at the B&B....

After another year or more, I popped in to see if the usual suspect was still complaining and still not banned. Thought I might enjoy the site again and start buying the graphic novels once more if he was finally gone. Yep and nope.
Sad to see some things just don't change. Maybe, next year. Peace.
