....well, this was a lovely way to make amends....
...I will say, that Greg's art is on-point, here; the detail in Levi's face bring out realistic tones to show us his hurt emotions & how he's Not meant to look like, "...a bargain-basement Drew...", and just be LEVI, who should remove the junk, and be himself....
....Levi always looked great w/ the shag, but some tight Jeans (showing off that rockin' ASS), jeans shirts / dress shirts (w/ some tit cleavage) & work-boots will differentiate him from Drew, & unionize him with the 'levelheaded' B&B'ers (Kyle, Rudy, Drew), but provide a contrast from the 'hotheaded' Ones (Lance, Price, Mannis, etc.) ...
....and, another thing....let's STOP all this jizz-jazz about Levi leaving for Hawaii! ....He's already in the lead to win "Man Of The Year 2024", and even with a story arc about his looks, he brought in MOST comments in the previous post since 2015(!!!), So, the Kid is LOVED, he ain't leavin' .....
...BUT....twist it a bit, to go like THIS; Levi scopes out some Job opportunities in NYC, and gets a juicy pharma gig here, where he can work from the B&B....He weighs the options w/ Kyle, who lets him live at the B&B until he can re-build his finances, while giving Kyle some cash to stay there...
...Levi (temporarily) goes to Hawaii to look at the apartment(w/ Jeremy, on Jeremy's discounted Steward flight), and Jeremy LOVES Hawaii ( & the Apartment SO much)..Levi sublets it him, Jeremy moves there (making Levi MORE cash), still giving him ties to Hawaii, and we can start seeing Levi's ASS in more states of undress at the B&B!
....that way, we dump Jeremy, and see Levi's BUTT!...win-WIN!...ha-HAAA!! .....CHOW!
I know I am in the minority here, BUT I like Jeremy. And speaking of butts :D he's got a hot one in panel 4, too bad he doesn't let anyone enjoy it. :D :D
Jeremy has his place in the BnB because he represents those in the gay community who are quiet, reserved, and not into all the drama. He is gay but doesn't make it his defining character like Richard, and doesn't make himself the center of attention like Price (where is he, with his shirts and underwear only wearing self?)
The great thing about this strip is that it shows all aspects of the community in the variety of characters.
I also like Jeremy and Levi together, it shows that people are not always attracted to the ones you think they would be.
Levi should have just said to Jeremy - 'You showed me who you are, and I don't think this will work'
Sure, Levi went too far. But a real friend would have acknowledged he was trying to improve and suggested that he back it off a bit. They wouldn't have cruelly attacked them.
....kudos, Love, you made some very good points about Jeremy, and the varying personalities of the B&B'ers, too.....
....aside from his GREAT Legs and butt (wink-wink), Jeremy had a RADICAL change in personality, by way of Greg; he originally was a flighty, WEHO-Gay, who cared about parties, who had the best connections, and was very...ummm...'easy'...(especially, if he was introduced to us, by Lance's one-night stand)....
...I noticed his change, when he & Mannis went to a (straight) Bar, and I thought he was just shy & reserved around MANNIS, but, his shift was noticeable, and welcome.................BUT(T)....
....Being in a B&B with some visibly arresting Hunks (Darren, Brad & Drew can FILL up a Room), strong personalities (Price, Lance & Rich aren't quiet wallflowers) Manly Eurohunks (Mannis, Eduardo & Sergei are built to F*UCK), & the caring, House nurturers (Rudy, Kyle,& Dave / Nick usually have the final say)...where, does that leave JEREMY!?
...I see Jeremy hanging moreso with Delia & Lisa, because of EVERYTHING you mentioned....He has his place at the B&B, but his story arcs should be about Marriage, domesticity, Babies, Family Life, financial planning, etc. ....
....and, leave the Hot sh*it to the HUNKS! ....Yeah, I'm shallow, I'll ADMIT it! ...ha-HAAA!! ....Chow-CHOW!
Much love back. I agree with his change but see it more as a maturing but maybe that is just me.
You wrote "...I see Jeremy hanging moreso with Delia & Lisa, because of EVERYTHING you mentioned....He has his place at the B&B, but his story arcs should be about Marriage, domesticity, Babies, Family Life, financial planning, etc. ...."
I totally agree. I'd like to see Greg develop him more but understand that time and space are limited. By the way, where is Mannis? Dave? Kyle? Rudy? etc. etc. etc. Greg, Enquiring minds want to know. :P :D :D Sorry had to do it. :D
Interesting episode. I'm glad that Jeremy and Levi are at least going to go out on a date to see whether there is any basis there for a relationship.
I could totally see this as a "friends only" situation. On the one hand, who wants to put themselves out there for someone who is so brutally judgmental? What's so great about Jeremy that he's worth putting up with his bland/reserved personality and air of indifference?
I guess Levi thought Jeremy was cute/physically attractive. I'm sure he doesn't love his personality - no wit, not much to say except negative comments. A cute face and rocking bod' don't make up for a lousy personality. Jeremy has not made any effort for anyone else, that I can see. He apparently thinks he's "all that and a bag of chips". No idea why he thinks that. Are male air hosts that high in the social pecking order? Glorified waiter at 20,000 feet? As Richard said, "Oh sweetie, it's a good thing they don't let you fly the plane."
On the other hand, if someone has been so brutally honest to your face, at least you know where you stand. Jeremy doesn't seem to think Levi's looks are up to his level, even when he dresses up and grooms himself. He apparently thinks of Levi as an "amiable slob". What positive comments did Jeremy make about him or his appearance? "You tried hard with this makeover, but it was a flop." How about, "Well, props to you for trying, but you don't need to do that - you have fine qualities just as you are. I just won't say anything about them."
Levi may be the type who doesn't want drama, and, per @Patrick in Dallas, Jeremy doesn't like drama either, but I don't see them as particularly compatible. "Bargain basement Drew Clone"?! Harsh! How about "Reserved to the point of unconsciousness with self-esteem that FAR outweighs his actual attractions"?!
I think Levi should "leave on a jet plane" and hit the beach in Hawaii.
....s'fine, Bubby, I get that Greg can't get to ALL the characters, but some 'updates' would be welcome...along with some glimpses of their FLESH, too! ...here's what I think they're doing.....
PRICE: ....visiting his rich Family for the Summer, boating, golfing & Horseback riding...and getting f*ucked in the stables, by Hot stable Boys....imagining they're Brad... ; ) ....
LANCE /DREW: ..In Provincetown AGAIN, with Lance holding Drew's bag, while everyone stopping them every 2 minutes...to talk (& ogle) Drew...
NICK / DAVE: ...visiting Canada, for Dave's Family functions; Nick has Sergei oversee the Garage, while he tones up his own Car...
MANNIS / RUDY: ...Mannis is doing side hustle Carpentry work for a Williamsburg, Blkyn Realtor & running the Kilt store, while Rudy travels, visits Art Galleries & Operas....he checks in time-to-time w/ Mannis, for financial brainstorming....
KYLE / DENNIS: ....banging over at Dennis' place, and cheering Dennis on, at Baseball games (while Brad plays)....Rich hangs w/Delia & Lisa, while running the B&B, and being nosy....
DARREN / EDUARDO: ....Police Academy for Darren; Ed is out for the Summer (College), but is taking some Summer courses to beef up his Major....working as a barista during the Summer, too....they're still f*ucking, but keeping a balance w/ Work duties....
....Dear GOD, did I make this the Strip my Life, or WHAT!? ....ha-HAAA!! ...chow, chow CHOW!
Jeremy just reminds me of the WeHo Asians in Los Angeles: (1) materialistic and (2) shallow and (3) white washed. These people do not want to incorporate relativity or relatabilty in their lives unless it suits them. I mean he told Levi that he was ugly basically and it was shallow and off putting. The shocking part? Jeremy has the personality of a grape. Run Levi, run. Ironically, i saw much more chemistry between him and Darren. Jack
@Patrick D: ....>gasp< ...JASON! ...I forgot about him!
...Greg set that up, and just left us hanging....and, left Price with that BONER! ...and, Jaime NEEDS to come back, Brad has almost NO story-lines anymore, being One of the 5 central characters.....
...BUT....this is possibly a good time, to do this....
...We all can re-live the Story-lines of (recent) past, in Greg's new BOOK coming out in July (his 6th), called "From Northport, With Love"! ...It can be a cute Summer read, and a great source of reference for the Ass shots...I mean, the comments! ...HA-HAAA!!
...P.S. I know I'm not Greg's PR, I just ACT like One! ..ha-HAAA!
It's nice to see there was a meeting of the minds with Jeremy and Levi - and Richard explaining to Jeremy makes up for the weird makeover (which seemed more for Richard than for Levi). I can forgive Jeremy for the harsh and hurtful words - the way we can forgive Brad for his nastiness towards Coach Dennis (an aside - Coach Dennis is drawn to resemble Brad's father, so maybe Brad's issue with Dennis stems from "daddy issues" - perhaps something to explore with Dennis meeting his doppleganger). Perhaps Greg likes to infuse drama to spice things up with catty dialogue and the occasional violence - as if channeling "Real Housewives", "The Real World", "A-List" or Dynasty tropes.
We'll see where this goes - I agree, drop the Hawai'i plans and keep both characters. It's nice to see Levi evolve from "Bottle Guy". And his storyline introduced us to Jason, who needs to return. What's interesting about Jeremy is his character growth - he is a bit uptight about the wedding, making a big deal about anal (it'd fine not to prefer it, a multi-arc storyline was the the problem). He seems to be the rare resident who actually leaves Long Island, making him much more sophisticated in some ways. Will this make Mannis envious? Will Levi realize it's not meant to be after finally getting to date his crush? Is Jeremy just on the rebound and will actually consider marriage with Mannis now that it's not for convenience? Plus, it'll be wonderful to see an Asian character stay for the duration, rather than discarded like the others.
Interesting to hear about Greg's book - is the book a collection of the episodes together, or does it feature expanded stories from the strip or stories / characters not featured in the episodes we have?
P.S. was Rudy, or his past love ever in the Armed Forces? President Biden just pardoned thousands of vets who'd been convicted under the military's ban on gays from 1951-2013. That'd be an interesting story to explore if that was an aspect of anyone's past..
....well, it's nice to see I'm not the ONLY One who has a lot to say! ....ha-HAA! ...jus'kiddin, but some answers for you.....

*{Was Rudy, or his past love, ever in the Armed Forces?}
....don't think so; Rudy's Lover was an Ebony Man, and passed away from a sickness...He gave a loving talk w/ Darren awhile ago, which should've explored their bond a bit more... I feel Rudy should have more 'Elder status' talks w/ the B&B'ers (Darren, Mannis & Lance, in particular), because having a mature Gay Man is RARE to see in a Comic strip, and he has SO much to offer them.....and, US....
....I'm so LOVING you're invested in this strip too, Frankie Baby! ....you HAVE to get the Books (although I has to get the re-issued 1st Book from Sugar Maple; I have the Kensington press)...the first Two are B&W, then color (Ep# 222), onwards...
You aren't the only one with a lot to say, and it appears as if you only respond to certain posters and it comes off a cliquish at times it's about engagement and it's going to be scant when people point out the many ills of gay society...That being say: what episode did Rudy say that he had a black lover? Speaking of which: when will we see him again? To be honest with you, I saw Matt and Sergei getting together but as usual, dull characters like Jeremy get multiple pages.
You were spot on about the coach and Brad. To be honest with you, I don't like either of them but the coach is MUCH more interesting than Brad ever was.
Back to the storyline: Levi and Jeremy are mismatched. One had to deal with the harshness of reality and the other is a discombobulated wannabe Twink with delusions of grandeur. A fling? Maybe (IF Jeremy is on that page) but a relationship? No way.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this? I'm not too fond of Jeremy and how he approached Levi. I don't think it's a good idea for them to be together, while I get the whole "wrong foot" scenario and bettering one's self after making a mistake... I don't think Jeremy is what Levi needs in a boyfriend, and Levi isn't what Jeremy needs either.
They both need to on themselves first before I think they should enter any relationship.
But on the talk on the whole Coach and Brad thing.... While I feel for Coach, I can't help there's also an established power imbalance now at the B&B with Coach dating Kyle. That said I do hope Coach and Kyle *do* make things work.

@RBS - Love your version of the updates, I can see all of them. Brad is also probably still day-dreaming of Jaimie (ep #516).
Maybe Price is finally letting lawyer Jason "pound his succulant a$$ into submission" (ep #632).
