This seems anti-climactic in a way. I had a feeling Drew would be offering Breyer some advice. Drew is the trained professional best equipped to address this issue as I had thought. In any event I'd say the Kyle & Breyer relationship is probably over and none of the other BnB men aside from Drew or Rudy would ever trust Breyer again but they never really did anyway especially Brad "not really over my feelings for Kyle" Steele. The idea that Breyer actually needed to feel desirable to men other than Kyle comes from left field. Where was the hint that he actually needed to go so far as to have a clandestine encounter? From what readers knew of the character that despite some insecurities he felt more secure with Kyle than he had with any other man. Kyle was his dream come true, the "Prince Charming" of his life. So, that part of this story is still not that convincing to me. Breyer should not have gone with his impulse in that situation and then lied about it, that was so wrong. But let's face it Breyer was just turned into a watered down, low level villain out of the blue. It seems though that their relationship was not in good condition generally. We were told that Kyle has not been available sexually and emotionally to Breyer of late. Something that other readers have hinted at is that Kyle himself has been a bland character for quite awhile now. Sometimes he just sounds like a scripted gay Public Service Announcement and he rarely wears sexy outfits. If the other guys at the BnB are sexually expressive than Kyle seems sexually undemonstrative. Kyle's sexuality like the character is just "present" most of the time but not lively as though he was a token gay character on a 1990s American television show. My main point is that Kyle and Breyer have needed character development and I'm wanting to see both of them become more interesting characters as they go their separate ways and maybe see other men. I had thought Kyle was really into role playing and regular sexy cosplay. Of course when it comes to semi-nudity or provocative attire, Brad, Eduardo, Drew,and Price are called upon frequently for fanservice. Not complaining about that at all but, have we ever seen Nick, Dave, or Rudy scantily clad? In all seriousness, how about some broader body positivity?

When the guy grabbed Breyer's cock he could have swatted his hand away or said "No thanks" but instead he grabbed the guy's junk and stroked. How is this not cheating? Regardless of Breyer's intention he's guilty! Time for Breyer to hit the road and Kyle to find a nice reliable bear. *wink*
I thought there was going to be some wild twist we didn't see coming. I wanted to believe Breyer was "innocent" (he did rebuff Richard's advances and told Kyle right away). This sort of encounter is not necessarily so serious; the storyline might have had the confession earlier - we would be right where we are relating to fidelity, BnB friends taking sides, etc. Drew was not being complicit - in counseling Breyer there is therapist-patient confidentiality. I imagine the strip must be somewhat moral to appear in some publications - in reality, in a house of gay men, one would expect some open relationships, hookups and affairs.
Hopefully this storyline will wrap in two weeks - it's been half the year at that point. So many characters have stories which would be interesting to explore: Lance/Drew sharing a room, meeting the families; Darren and Eduardo; Delia; the new wing of rooms - maybe some new characters or visitors from the past; maybe even a party at the BnB with the next door neighbors, the Bears from the club, etc, Long Island Pride parade, visits to NYC.....time will tell.
I will agree with some of you when they say that the story line could have been wrapped up a lot sooner. Kyle was cheated on and this is something that did not need to drag on. But I disagree with the criticism of Greg when some people say that the strip is boring. I will agree that other storylines could have been explored but still let's not criticise him Given a fact that he does provide a service and an outlet. I still feel as if we should see Lance and Drew get married because it shows character evolution and I will also like to see something involving Rudy...

But I also agree with the commentators at 10:04 and 10:17 AM about this storyline, it's time to move on from this. They should just break up, there is not much point in a drawn out couples therapy session story. I still like Breyer but his relationship with Kyle is beyond repair at this point. Kyle was just hanging on to the relationship out of the misguided faith you have when you fall deeply in love with a man. I've been through that so, I could relate to Kyle with that part of this storyline. If you don't have trust you don't have anything as other folks have said before and they weren't in an open relationship unless I missed something there. Lying is not right. Never is. Breyer gave into temptation. It was a minor thing not even reaching the level of a fling. He should have been honest. And this couple needs to hash out what each wants from the relationship.
But is Kyle so pure? Is he just cookie-cutter, white bread and mayonnaise, the kind of gay guy straights like? Or might there some chinks in his armor? I sure as hell hope so, because right now he's about as attractive or interesting as a Ken Doll.

Diahann Carroll's Dominique was one of the best characters on that show and unique because there was no other character like her in a night time soap at the time. I agree that Nick, Dave,and Rudy need storylines. Nick and Dave are two of the most down-to-earth characters in the strip but this doesn't mean that they can't have some excitement every now and then. How about some real love interests for Rudy? Rudy could see some loves from his past hoping to rekindle an old flame arrive or fall for a man just a tad younger (late 50s, mid 60s) than him. I agree that Lance and Drew are the best match of the actual BNB residents. I'll also go out on a limb and say that both Breyer and Kyle had probably accepted a fantasy about their relationship that couldn't last when some reality hit that fantasy (emotional, sexual distance & spontaneous temptation). When we are led to believe a relationship is nearly perfect (on the surface) than you know there is probably something wrong or many things wrong with it.

This storyline is a real highlight of the strips I've read to this point. The lively discussions in the comments section suggest that other people are enjoying it as well.
I'm sad we have to ignore the lives of most of the other B&B denizens while we focus on the ongoing Kyles/Breyer drama, but it's a price I'm willing to pay -- at least for now. And it's an inherent limitation of the art form, I suppose. It can't be easy to write, draw, and color an entire strip every two weeks, especially at this high standard of quality.
Kyle seems like a pretty laidback guy to the point of being too passive (in my opinion). Maybe that's the role he's playing in his current relationship trouble -- he's not pushing Breyer hard enough. Sometimes insecure guys (Breyer) need attention and expectations to feel safe and loved.
And Breyer has certainly gotten some attention recently. I love that the handjob wasn't planned but is clearly enough to still put stress on their monogamous arrangement. I'm super curious to see where this story heads next.
As an aside, I followed the link above to the Brad/Aaron episode. What is up with Brad and straight guys? Maybe that's why he's not with Price. Well, one of the reasons...

The lying by Breyer is not great.
But absolute monogamy is not realistic for a lot of gay men.

And it's an inherent limitation of the art form, I suppose. It can't be easy to write, draw, and color an entire strip every two weeks, especially at this high standard of quality.
Kyle seems like a pretty laidback guy to the point of being too passive (in my opinion). Maybe that's the role he's playing in his current relationship trouble -- he's not pushing Breyer hard enough. Sometimes insecure guys (Breyer) need attention and expectations to feel safe and loved.
And Breyer has certainly gotten some attention recently. I love that the handjob wasn't planned but is clearly enough to still put stress on their monogamous arrangement. I'm super curious to see where this story heads next.
As an aside, I followed the link above to the Brad/Aaron episode. What is up with Brad and straight guys? Maybe that's why he's not with Price. Well, one of the reasons...
