...well, Drew & Kyle were respectful to the 'soft launch', but.. I don't think ANYTHING will be 'soft', with Brad flittin' 'round in those PUM-PUM SHORTS! ...what does he think this is, 1988!? ..ha-HAAA!!
..I said it before; I think it should've been a specialized Carpentry business that Mannis worked at, to put his professional skills to use (isn't he supposed to be a World-class Carpenter?) ...but he DOES seem to hold his heritage in HIGH regard, as is Rudy, so. let's hope this venture takes off....
...and, speaking of 'taking off', Levi stands to lose some POUNDS, there! (panel 6) ...his ASS is supposed to be fat, not his GUT! ..take a cue from Price, Man!! ...HA-HAA!!
I thought this episode was cute and light. Yes, I must agree that the kilt business is an odd choice for Mannis considering his carpentry skills and Rudy with his art loving inclinations might have chosen a business that focused on that. Furniture and wood carved art would have worked quite well as their business. Levi looks hot to me just as he is and it is good for gay men to see a diversity of body types in media like Kyle’s BNB. Also, I believe Levi will be the new love interest for Kyle…he is a bit like Breyer but in many ways unlike him. So, I’m interested in seeing how that plays out.
It's too bad that most of the men in this strip are portrayed physically as tom of finland types. the perfect body with a six pack and big package. There are more nick and rudy types than there are brad and price types in the world.
...'tis true, that my unfair comment about Levi's Body was a bit strong, but I was waiting to actually SEE his Body, and I didn't expect what I've come to see on a regular basis, in this strip...
...I also agree, that there should be MANY different Body types within this strip, too...I LOVE Sergei's build (husky, w/ a sturdy tummy), Ed's (lean, smooth, & fit for his black bikini briefs)...but, Nick actually LOST weight recently, & Richard, Jeremy & Kyle gained more muscle mass...
...SO, to see Levi...who DOES look good...looking 'normal'...threw me a bit...makes sense though, that he wouldn't be chiseled to perfection, seeing that he was recently living out of his Car...
...BUTT, Greg better give him a BIS ASS, because I loooooove that type O' Guy; short, bearded dudes w/ curly hair & juicy RUMPS, in tight Jeans...mmmmmmmmmmm.....
I am happy to see the successful "soft launch" of Rudy's Kilt shop. It's not your typical clothing store, plus the choice of a kilt allows for all kinds of potential interactions with all types of people coming in and out of the store. Since this fictitious community is located on Long Island, near NYC, I expect it will quickly become known as a "must see" spot for kilt afficionados!
Re: Levi with some chub - as @RB7079 pointed out, 1. the poor man HAS been living out of his car, 2. He nearly froze to death a few weeks ago, and 3. Going to a gym was prolly pretty low down on the priority list!
Re: All the other "male model" bodies in the strip - yes, it is a bit cliched and also kind of fun! Personally, being a fan of proportionate bodybuilders, I'd LOVE to see some really big, sculpted New Yawk Eye-talians or Greeks strutting through town! They DO call it "strong Island" after all!
I also question why there isn't more ethnic diversity in the strip. I get that there is only room for so many characters, but how about more people from the Middle East - are there any in the history of the strip? What about more Asians, particularly South Asians - think of the male cast members in "Crazy Rich Asians" for examples.
Just a few random thoughts! I'm really enjoying the strip and I appreciate the art work! Well done and entertaining story lines!
...y'know, I was thinking about this 'Kilt Shoppe' thing, and workin' the angles of it, in my head...and, maybe, for story-lines sake, it should've gone like this....
- Mannis runs a specialized Carpentry business, w/ Kilts sold on the SIDE; Rudy can oversee the Kilts from Home, online...Richard can be included also, giving him work & A career, & more closeness to Mannis & Rudy...
- Mannis can go out on Jobs, meeting others, where he can possibly run into more Hot Scottish Men, and, can finally leave that pithy Jeremy behind...
- Rich sews up specialized Kilts, and gives some to the B&B'ers, giving them more reason to wear them...Ed, Drew & Kyle seem more likely to do so...
...between the Barn extension & the Kilt shoppe, there seems to be more areas for the characters to convene; hopefully we'll get a more alternate storylines that show off each situation of each B&B'er...here's hoping... ; )

body shame much? id rather see the norm than the fantasy world of gay men all having six packs and perfect bodies.

When will we see Lance strip down. Why is he so buttoned up all of the time? Isn't it time that he and Drew got married???
